Food forestry may not be the only answer to issues related to food safety, biodiverse ecosystems and climate challenges. It should have an essential part in it, though. Not only because of its intrinsic value as the most sustainable form of agriculture, but also since the concept forms an obvious basis for many other forms of sustainable agriculture, restoration of nature and landscape construction. We need to highlight the wider significance of food forestry and its derivatives for our future.
Bringing together around 200 people from five continents, this unique event is the first to gather leading practitioners and researchers to share their knowledge, passion and hopes for the complex agroforestry systems called forest gardens, food forests, home gardens and multistrata systems.
